Terrace Bar and Food

Wine, cocktails, draught beer and sharing platters with fantastic river views.

Modern, eclectic and featuring indoor and outdoor dining spaces, the Terrace Bar & Food at the National Theatre offers a delicious, Mediterranean-influenced menu, with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Choose a selection of small plates, such as Al Halabi style lamb kebabs with potato moutabel, Steak tartare with toast or Beetroot falafel with spiced raita - or you can let our chef decide with a sharing platter for two or more.

Our specially selected wine list has a distinctly European edge, as well as a representative variety of great growers from around the world. Or why not try a cocktail for our seasonally-evolving list such as a Red Apple and Ginger Collins or a Espresso Martini or one of our lovely hot tea based cocktails.

Terrace Bar and Food

In conjunction with the Sustainable Restaurant Association, recycling company Paper Round, and our food and beverage suppliers, we are developing and challenging our approach towards sustainability - from serving local draught beer to composting our food waste, to cultivating bee-friendly plants on the balcony! We have outdoor seating created for us by "free-range" furniture designer Ryan Frank, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind amidst the hustle and bustle of London and enjoy the panoramic views overlooking the South Bank.

Find us on level 2 (in the Lyttelton side of the building).

Summer Opening times

Please note the Terrace will close at 7.30pm on Thursday 17th May
