NT : Development : Trusts and Foundation support

A Vital Role

Trusts and Foundations play a vital role in supporting the work of the National Theatre.

There are several areas of the Theatre's work which currently attract trust and foundation support, these include:

  • Our Education Department that reaches over 170,000 young people and spends £2.5 million each year on its activity across the UK
  • The Studio, which is the centre of research and development for the National Theatre and is at the heart of our aim to create new work, build new talent, and encourage new and diverse audiences
  • The archive, which is the repository for the artistic, administrative and technical records of the National Theatre
  • Access enhancements to ensure the National Theatre is accessible and welcoming to all and everyone's visit is made as easy and enjoyable as possible
  • Our work on stage
  • Ongoing backstage work
  • Capital improvements
