NT : Development : Why support the National Theatre : Where your money goes

Where your money goes

Without the generous support of individuals, companies and trusts, there's no way the National Theatre could continue to produce such diverse theatre, support new writing or reach out to young people across the UK through our education department (discover:).

The financial case for your support

The National Theatre's current level of activity costs almost £65 million each year. Our earned income makes up 61% of this, and our Arts Council grant 30%. The remaining 9% (around £5.5 million in 2009/10) comes from private sources. This private funding from generous individuals, businesses as well as trusts and foundations ensures we are able to continue to deliver our repetoire, run our exciting education programme (discover:) and maintain low ticket prices for the general public.
