A rare look at the genesis of Edward Lionheart, the actor-manager at the centre of Theatre of Blood. The earliest cinematic Shakespeare includes a fleeting glimpse of Herbert Beerbohm Tree as King John, a charming eight-minute Tempest and Sir Frank Benson as a vigorous Richard III.
