A Musical Comedy
based on the story by
Hans Christian Andersen

WINNER of the Olivier Award for Best New Musical

Hans Christian Andersen's inspirational tale has been turned into an exhilarating musical entertainment.

As 'Ugly' is hatched under the adoring gaze of his proud mum, Ida, his musical adventures begin. With a score brimming with wit, melody and unexpected emotion, there's plenty of juicy opportunities for a cast of ducks geese, turkeys, bullfrogs and an indefatigable cat.

Julia McKenzie, a highly acclaimed lead in the National's productions of Guys and Dolls and Sweeney Todd, returns to direct the Ensemble in a production she first staged at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough.

'A witty, tuneful musical by Anthont Drewe and George Stiles, the brightest hopes for the future of the British Musical. Daily Telegraph

Honk! The Ugly Duckling finished on: 25 March 2000
