Joe Keller (James Hazeldine) is alleged to have supplied World War II fighter planes with defective engines, leading to the deaths of innocent pilots - a crime for which his business partner took the fall.

One of Keller's sons, himself a pilot, is thought to have been killed in action. But his mother (Julie Walters) can't accept his death and equally, can't accept that her dead son's fiancee (Catherine McCormack) has transferred her affections to her other son (Ben Daniels).

The confrontations that ensue lead to the uncovering of a shameful family secret...

Director Howard Davies' recent work includes Battle Royal and Flight at the National, The Iceman Cometh (Almeida, Old Vic and Broadway) and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Almeida and West End).

Running time is 2 hours and 15 minutes

There is an Education Workpack for this production.
