Life x 3

a new play by Yasmina Reza (2000)

translated by Christopher Hampton (2000)

Henri and Sonia are putting their son to bed when an unexpected knock at the door throws them into disarray. Hubert and Ines have arrived for dinner, a day earlier than expected... As the evening degenerates, Yasmina Reza blends cruel observations with high comedy in an hilarious and poignant examination of our most personal intimacies and private longings.

The production reunites the French playwright with the translator, director and creative team of the international hits, Art and The Unexpected Man.

Director Matthew Warchus' recent work also includes Volpone at the National, True West (Donmar and Broadway) and the film Simpatico.

Christopher Hampton's work includes White Chameleon and a version of An Enemy of the People at the National; Les Liaisons Dangereuses (play and film); Carrington and Mary Reilly (films).

Running time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. There is no interval.
