Costume, Props, Furniture and Armour available for hire

 The hire department of the National Theatre houses an extensive collection of costumes, furniture, props, armour and swords from past National productions.

This resource is available to anyone wishing to hire - other theatres, film and television companies, amateur societies and educational organisations throughout the UK and oversees. All enquiries and requests are welcome. We offer a warm welcome and a friendly and efficient service.

The majority of the stock has been made by the National's renowned workshops. The inventiveness and attention to detail of the National's staff, as well as their historical knowledge, ensures that each piece is unique and the workmanship of the highest quality. With over twenty productions coming from the National each year there is always something new to discover.

The collection includes more than 60,000 costumes plus a wide variety of furniture and props - all of the highest quality.

And hiring couldn't be more simple - single items or complete costumes, furniture and props for an entire production all at reasonable rates.

Our costumes have been used for many films and television productions including:
Kingdom of Heaven, Harlot's Progress, Princes in the Tower, Aberfan, What the Ancients Did For Us, Alexander the Great, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Mary Tudor, Jack the Ripper, Braveheart, Rob Roy, The Madness of King George, King Lear (BBC), Jude, The Crucible, Wings of a Dove, Cinderella, Plunket & McLeane, Children of the New Forest...
